For the fourth year running, Bodega Garzón is among the Top 10 Best Wineries in the World.
Last October, Bodega Garzón was once again distinguished by World Best Vineyards, a competition that awards in its ranking the best vineyards and wineries in the world to visit. On this occasion, for the fourth consecutive year, Garzón has been included among the Top 10, being this year the only Uruguayan winery in this ranking.
Wineries from over 15 countries around the world participated in this award, and Garzón was once again recognized for its architecture and sustainability, its wines and the excellent tourist activities it offers to visitors. Among these, is the Restaurant that has the culinary direction of renowned chef Francis Mallmann.
This great recognition is added to other important international awards such as being chosen the Best Winery of the New World 2018 by Wine Enthusiast, being in the Top 100 wineries of Wine & Spirits and the LEED Certification that confirms Garzón as the first fully sustainable winery in the world for all its facilities.
The choice was made by more than 500 experts from the wine world and was announced last October 26th at a gala held at Bodega Zuccardi, in the city of Mendoza.
Bodega Garzón is an avant-garde building that has become the most important wine venture in Uruguay. Founded by Engineer Alejandro P. Bulgheroni and owned by the Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards group, it has a vineyard of more than 1,200 plots and a sustainable building of 19,050 m².
It also has an exclusive restaurant for 120 diners with renowned Argentine chef Francis Mallmann as ambassador and culinary director, and several wine tourism activities to enjoy its facilities throughout the year.
Other milestones achieved by Bodega Garzón in recent years: Balasto 2018 launch at the exclusive Place de Bordeaux, opening of the exclusive Private Club The Garzón Club, and the outstanding inclusions of Balasto 2015 in the TOP 100 ranking of Wine & Spirits, Tannat Reserva 2015 in the TOP 100 of Wine Spectator magazine, Tannat Single Vineyard 2017 in Masters Of Wine, being chosen as Winery of the Year by Patricio Tapia’s Descorchados Guide in 2020 and 2021 and having the best winery restaurant according to the prestigious Decanter magazine.
