On September 9, Balasto 2018, one of the Grands Vins du Monde, had its official launch at Place de Bordeaux, a place reserved only for the best wines in the world.
It is the fifth year in a row that Balasto is launched in this exclusive place that gets all the attention of the most important referents in the wine sector.
Balasto 2018 has garnered great recognition since its launch, having obtained 97 points by Tim Atkin Master of Wine, 96 points by James Suckling, 98 points by Marcelo Copello, 96 points according to Descorchados and 96 points by Adega Magazine.
Balasto refers to the particular soil of Bodega Garzón which is made up of weathered granite, with excellent drainage and permeability, perfect for bringing elegance, complexity, and energy to this wine. This vintage contains 40% Tannat, 34% Cabernet Franc, 18% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot and 3% Marselan, its fermentation is carried out in cement tulips and its maturation is carried out for 20 months in unroasted French oak barrels.
