Tim Atkin, Master of Wine and one of the world’s most renowned wine critics, presented his annual report on Uruguayan wines, highlighting once again, the wines of Bodega Garzón with excellent scores:
Petit Clos Tannat block #212 2019 – 98 points.
Petit Clos Cabernet Franc 2018 – 96 points.
Petit Clos Albariño – 96 points.
Tannat Single Vineyard 2019 – 96 points.
Albariño Single Vineyard 2020 – 94 points.
Tannat Reserva 2019 – 93 points.
Albariño Reserva 2020 – 92 points.
Pinot Noir Rosé Reserva 2020 – 90 points.
With these scores, Bodega Garzón positioned its products as the best rated wines in the country. In addition, Balasto 2018, one of the Grands Vins Du Monde was awarded 97 points.
Every year Tim Atkin prepares a report which includes the best wines from each country. He is also a journalist and has collaborated with prominent media such as Harpers, Decanter and Gourmet Traveller Wine. He has received several acknowledgements, including the Glenfiddich Wine Writer Award in 1988, 1990, 1993, 2004 and 2006 and the Wine Guild of the United Kingdom’s Wine Columnist of the Year in 1991, 1992, 1994 and 1996.
