Balasto 2016 was launched at the exclusive Place de Bordeaux, in France

The icon wine of Bodega Garzón marks a new milestone in the history of Uruguayan wines by being the first to be distributed through the exclusive Place de Bordeaux, a place reserved for the best wines in the world, where there are only three products from South America.

Balasto 2016 will be launched at the exclusive Place de Bordeaux, in France

The first harvest of this wine was made in 2015. The launch, during Vinexpo Bordeaux in 2017, was attended by Engineer Alejandro P. Bulgheroni, Alberto Antonini and Francis Mallmann. This new 2016 vintage has already obtained 94 points from James Suckling, 95 points in Adega and 96 points from Marcelo Copello, from Brazil.

Balasto is the particular type of soil of Garzón terroir, weathered granite, with good drainage and minerality, ideal to bring complexity, energy and vibrancy to this wine that is a blend composed of four varieties: Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Marselan.

With the advice of renowned international winemaker Alberto Antonini, Bodega Garzón applies a philosophy that revolves around the production of wines that become the true expression of their origin.

“Knowing the terroir in depth, you can make wines with a stronger sense of the place. Biodiversity, the structure of the soil and its composition, the hills and the exposure they provide to the vineyards, its proximity to the ocean and the influence of its clean and fresh breeze make Garzón a unique place for the production of premium wines” Alberto Antonini.

This wine, which has already become a legend, will be available on the market from 12 September, the day of its launch worldwide.
