In March we celebrated the opening of our new winery specialised in the production of premium wines in Uruguay. The Tour at Bodega Garzón, a new experience we offer our visitors, was launched on the same month.
Imprinted in this sustainable building is our clear vision to propose a paradigm shift that will set a new standard for the region. In its constant pursuit of the greatest quality, Bodega Garzón has embraced this premise, while also being highly respectful of the environment and managing to turn this intervention into a tool for integration. A clear example of this is the more than 7,000 m2 of green roofs planted using native species.
A modern building
This modern building has transformed the country’s wine tourism, not only putting Uruguay in the world map as a producer of quality wines, but also creating a new tourist attraction for those travelling to the region from different parts of the world, who are drawn to a unique, distinctive offer.
Bodega Garzón introduces a new experience that will allow all visitors to see how our wines are produced, while enjoying an unrivalled setting.
The tour begins outside, where visitors can enjoy a view of the impressive landscape accompanied by a guide who will explain, in different languages, the terroir’s attributes and the different varieties of grapes currently found in Garzón, the influence of the Atlantic breeze, given the proximity to the ocean, as well as other details specific to the vineyard and the region.
Afterwards, visitors will learn about the entire process, from the moment when grapes arrive at the winery and are carefully hand-picked, up to the fermentation process, going past the different rooms containing stainless steel tanks, concrete tanks and barrels.
Wine tastings in the Tour at Bodega Garzón
Visitors can also see the parent rock while tasting different varietal wines such as Pinot Noir, Albariño –Garzón’s star white wine– and Tannat, which makes up 35% of the vines planted.
This experience lasts approximately 30 minutes and is available Wednesdays through Sundays. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance by email: [email protected]
After this wonderful tour, visitors can enjoy lunch in our exclusive restaurant, which offers a carefully selected menu featuring local dishes and regional flavours, as well as an unrivalled view of our vineyards.
