We are incredibly proud to be the only Uruguayan winery to be included in the Top 15 of the World’s Best Vineyards 2024 ranking for the 6th consecutive year. This annual list highlights the 100 best wine tourism destinations worldwide. Additionally, Bodega Garzón is one of just three South American wineries featured in this prestigious Top 15.
The selection was made by over 500 wine experts from around the world.
This remarkable recognition adds to other major international awards, such as being named “Best New World Winery 2018” by Wine Enthusiast and ranking in the Top 100 wineries of Wine & Spirits.
Bodega Garzón is a cutting-edge project that has become Uruguay’s most important wine venture. Founded by Engineer Alejandro P. Bulgheroni and part of the Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards group, it features a vineyard of around 1,300 parcels and a 19,050 m² sustainable building that earned LEED Certification, making Garzón the world’s first fully sustainable winery across all its facilities.
Other recent milestones include the launch of Balasto 2015 at the exclusive Place de Bordeaux, the opening of the exclusive Garzón Club, and notable inclusions such as Balasto 2015 in Wine & Spirits’ Top 100, Tannat Reserva 2015 in Wine Spectator’s Top 100, Tannat Single Vineyard 2017 in Masters of Wine, and being named Winery of the Year by Patricio Tapia’s Descorchados Guide in 2020 and 2021. Additionally, Garzón boasts the best winery restaurant, according to the prestigious Decanter.
