On June 5th, we attended one of the most outstanding wine industry events of the year: Great Wines of the World New York. Organized for the third time in this city by James Suckling, one of the most influential critics who annually awards the best wines worldwide, we participated once again in 2024 in this major tasting event, which brought together 380 wineries from all five continents to present their finest products.
The event took place for the first time at The Glasshouse, an important venue with privileged views of downtown Manhattan and the Hudson River, and it attracted a large audience with sold-out tickets. Attendees included collectors, renowned chefs and sommeliers, specialized journalists, representatives from specialty stores and importers, as well as end consumers.
On this occasion, at our booth, we showcased Balasto 2020, one of the Grands Vins du Monde that had its official release at the exclusive Place de Bordeaux in September 2023, a venue reserved only for the finest wines. Christian Wylie, Managing Director of Bodega Garzón, and the Winebow team, our new importer in that country, were present at the event.
It is a great pride for us to once again be part of this event that contributes to promoting Uruguayan wines in the world’s major markets.
