We received the scores from the Descorchados Guide 2026, the prestigious publication by renowned Chilean critic Patricio Tapia, an essential reference for the South American wine industry that each year highlights the best labels in the region.
In this edition, 21 Bodega Garzón wines were awarded more than 90 points, once again reaffirming the consistency and quality of our portfolio. Among the most notable recognitions are Balasto 2023, with 97 points and named Best Red Blend of Uruguay — a wine that had a special “en primeur” tasting held exclusively for this occasion ahead of its scheduled release in 2026 at La Place de Bordeaux —, Petit Clos Tannat 2023, with 98 points, Best Red Wine and Best Tannat of Uruguay, Sparkling Nature 2024, with 95 points and named Best Sparkling Wine of Uruguay, Sauvignon Blanc Single Vineyard 2025, with 95 points and named Best Sauvignon Blanc of Uruguay, and Field Blend Rosé 2025, with 94 points and named Best Rosé of Uruguay.
These awards reflect the ongoing work in both vineyard and winery, as well as the identity of a unique terroir, where balasto soils, ocean influence, and climate come together to create wines of character and precision.
In the coming months, these wines will be part of the international events and tastings organized by the Descorchados Guide, to be held in major cities around the world, bringing the best of Uruguay closer to consumers and key industry figures.
