Bodega Garzón has once again been recognized by World’s Best Vineyards, entering this year’s Top 5 of the world’s best wineries, ranked at #4. This achievement consolidates Garzón as the only Uruguayan winery in the Top 50, with a consistent presence among the most visited and celebrated wineries in this prestigious international ranking.
The list, which features 100 wineries from 15 countries, highlights exceptional wine tourism experiences. Garzón was distinguished for the quality of its wines, its architecture integrated into the surrounding landscape, its focus on sustainability, and its unique gastronomic offerings—such as its 120-seat restaurant led by renowned chef Francis Mallmann, with panoramic views of the vineyards.
This recognition adds to a trajectory marked by major international milestones: being named New World Winery of the Year 2018 by Wine Enthusiast, being featured in the Wine & Spirits Top 100, and achieving LEED Certification, positioning it as the world’s first winery to be 100% sustainable across all its facilities.
The World’s Best Vineyards voting panel is composed of more than 500 wine experts, who highlighted the comprehensive experience Garzón offers its visitors.
Founded by Ing. Alejandro P. Bulgheroni, Bodega Garzón is part of Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards and has established itself as a benchmark in the regional wine industry, with over 1,300 plots and a 19,050 m² sustainable facility.
Other major achievements in recent years include: the launch of Balasto at the prestigious Place de Bordeaux; the creation of The Garzón Club; and awards for iconic wines such as Balasto (Wine & Spirits Top 100), Tannat Reserva (Wine Spectator Top 100), and Tannat Single Vineyard (Masters of Wine).
