{"id":19563,"date":"2018-10-04T18:52:27","date_gmt":"2018-10-04T18:52:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bodegagarzon.com\/?p=19563"},"modified":"2018-10-05T14:06:51","modified_gmt":"2018-10-05T14:06:51","slug":"balasto-2015-was-chosen-to-be-part-of-the-top-100-of-wine-spirits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"\/en\/news\/press-releases\/balasto-2015-was-chosen-to-be-part-of-the-top-100-of-wine-spirits\/","title":{"rendered":"Top 100 Wines of the World 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The iconic wine of Bodega Garz\u00f3n keeps surprising the world and making Uruguayan history.<\/span><b> On this occasion, it was chosen to be included in the Top 100 Wines 2018, of the prestigious North American magazine Wine &amp; Spirits, a place reserved for the world\u2019s finest wines.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>Balasto 2015 was chosen to be part of the Top 100 of Wine &amp; Spirits<\/h2>\n<p><b>This is the first time that a Uruguayan wine receives such acknowledgement, which enables to position the country as a producer of quality wines.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The first harvest of Balasto was carried out in 2015 and launched during Vinexpo Bordeaux in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cBalasto\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> means ballast, the type of soil in Garz\u00f3n, formed by decomposed granite with excellent drainage and minerality, ideal to provide complexity, energy and vibrancy to this blend, composed by four varieties: Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Marselan.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With the advice of renowned international winemaker Alberto Antonini, Bodega Garz\u00f3n espouses a philosophy based on the elaboration of wines that become a faithful expression of their origin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cHaving a thorough understanding of the terroir, enables the production of wines that carry a stronger sense of the place.
