“An A+ Experience of an Olive Ranch with Olive Oil and Wine Tasting” February 19, 2016

Jeff P. We arrived in Punta del Este, Uruguay via cruise ship and arranged through Excellence Tourismo an excursion to visit Experience Garzon. The tour included a pick up at the port by our driver Jorge (sp?) and his son Geronomo (sp?), who served as our guide and English speaking translator on the drive. Jorge and Geronomo were incredibly friendly and very accommodating - as full of knowledge and equally inquisitive about our culture and lives. The van was clean and comfortable (and air conditioned!). We arrived at Bodega Garzon and were greeted by a really warm and friendly guide. The tour included a very professional video, with introduction in parts by our guide who gave history and explanations, answered questions and then gave a view of the various production facilities where they process the olives into oil. We were then given a drive around parts of the 500-acre property (!!!) and we returned to a really beautifully laid out tapas-like lunch of olive oils, olives, almonds, cheese and bread with wine and water to sample. The whole experience was excellent, very professional while also being warm and welcoming! I've been on a fair number of excursions and tours, and this one - I highly recommend this. Book directly with Excellence Tourismo!
